The Road Ahead
Kevin Gervais, President
Looking out the window and seeing positive opportunities where others do not can always be a challenge. That is why millions of potential entrepreneurs in North America hold back from launching into their dream job.
We can't blame them. Financing is harder to receive, trust is degrading in the marketplace, and there is an overall fear that consumers are not in a buying mood.
Even larger, established business are facing challenges, such as morale, organization, internal and external communication, and consumer perception of their brand. Looking from an advertising and marketing perspective, there is much that can be done to overcome many of these challenges.
With the right internal and external marketing, for example, companies large and small can gain a sense of pride, of self-worth, and of stability. Strong marketing ensures consistency so customers are not confused as to what is offered to them. Strong marketing empowers employees to give them the right tools to succeed in their position and work towards the greater good of their employer.
Strong marketing can also help with organization, because effective communication in the company can also mean the creation of proprietary, dynamic information systems that adapt as needs change, instead of using boxed software or Post-It! notes. Strong marketing ensures customers, employees and stakeholders that the business model is sound, is resilient to market pressures, and is self-sufficient.
For entrepreneurs, even, strong marketing can help them weather the ups and downs of the market and gauge what customers are looking to hear (and then stick with it once it is found).
On our end, we'll continue to keep watch and be aware of changes, of trends, and of tactics that can make business succeed locally, nationally and internationally. And to think, such success often starts with great marketing. Thus, we are confident businesses can grow and prosper today. That's our take.
